Australian canola oil is grown throughout the grain belt regions; from Northern NSW through Victoria, South Australia as well as Western Australia. It is Australia’s largest oilseed crop and has seen significant growth in the last 20 years; now averaging approximately 3 million mt annually.
Canola has the lowest saturated fat content of all commonly available vegetable oils and as such is the most popular vegetable oil in Australia. It’s also high in monounsaturated fatty acids, which are essential for lowering blood cholesterol levels. In addition it has a good balance of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, Omega 3 and 6.
Whilst there are no commercially available volumes of refined organic canola produced in Australia, Adams Australia source organic canola from our own US refinery (Adams Vegetable Oils, USA ).
